The Trojan War

• War happened around 1000 B.C.
• War was between the Greeks and the Trojans.
• War was started because Paris stole Helen from
  King Menelaus of Sparta.
• War went back and worth for 9 straight years.

The Judgement of Paris

• 1000 B.C. in the city of Troy.
• Paris had to decide whether to chose Hera,
  Athena, or Aphrodite.
• Paris, a coward, chose Aphrodite.
• Judgment of Paris formed as the real reason for
  the Trojan war.

• Paris and Aphrodite visit Menelaus.
• Paris Betrays him.
• Kidnaps Helen, brings her back to Troy.
• Chieftains responded to kidnapping, and were
  eager to cross the sea to Troy.

• Gain Advantage when Agamemmon kidnaps daughter of
  the Trojan priest Apollo.

• Greek Warrior Diomedes nearly kills Trojan Aenas.
• Apollo Saves Aenas.
• Greeks hold their own until Zeus remembers his
  promise to Thetis and comes down to the
  battlefield.

• Trojans drive Greeks back to their ships.
• Agamemnon agrees to return Brises.
• When Odysseus goes to ask Achilles to accept
  apology he refuses.

• Hera decides to seduce Zeus and give Greeks an
  Advantage.
• Zeus discovers the deception and commands
  Poseidon to abandon Greeks.
• Trojans press forward.

• Achilles best friend.
• Convinces Achilles to lend his armor.
• Fights in battle pretending to be Achilles, but
  is killed by Hectors spear.
• Achilles decides to avenge his death.

• The Golden apple was considered For the
  Fairest.
• The women to choose from were Athena, Hera and
  Aphrodite.
• Paris was the judge of who was going to receive
  it.

• Aphrodite offers the most beautiful woman in all
  of the world.
• Aphrodite receives the Golden Apple.

  warriors.

• Most famous Greek warrior.
• Achilles is invulnerable anywhere else but his
  heel, thats how he dies.

• Flees from troy and carries his father on his
  back.
• Agamemnon
• King, and leader of the Greeks.
• Doesnt like Achilles.
