  a fish in the Extravaganza.
• This will make it easy for all of us who have
  never entered a fish before, and remind the
  veterans of the correct procedure.

• Lets face it, entering a fish in the show is a
  bit of work. So why bother with netting your
  prized fish out, bagging it up and dragging it
  all the way to the show?

• Why have to worry about it all weekend just to
  have to tear down the tank and drag the thing
  back home?

enter your prize winning specimen in the show,
lets move on to how its done.Seriously.This
is so easy youll wonder why you havent entered
a fish in every Extravaganza!

How many simple steps are there to entering a
fish in the Extravaganza?

Step One

• Show preparation begins at home.
• Make sure you bring healthy specimens.
• Think about what kind of background and substrate
  will best show off your fishs colors.
• Properly bag the fish.
• Make sure you have written down the correct
  spelling of the species.

Step Two

• When you get to the show take the list of the
  fish you are entering to the registration table.
• The list should have
• Your name at the top.
• A list of correctly spelled species.
• The class in which you are
  entering your fish.

• Class Numbers for all fish are found on the Ohio
  Cichlid Association Website at
• www.ohiocichlid.com
• Just look on the menu bar to the right under OCA
  Extravaganza and you will see the Show Classes
  link.

After you turn in your list and pay the entry
fees for the fish, the fish are logged into the
show by species and class. Next, labels are
printed that will go on your tank to identify
your fish. Since there is sometimes a backlog at
the registration table, you can proceed to the
show room. Check back once in a while to see when
your labels are done. It normally wont take
very long as our registration professionals are
pretty quick.

Step Three

• Locate the showroom attendee.
• The attendee will help you find where your
  specific class of fish will be located.

Step four

• Set your tank in place.
• Talk to attendee about running airline to your
  tank.
• Place water in tank.
• Add fish, enjoy.

Labels

• Dont forget to check back and get your labels.
  Youll want your fish properly marked for the
  show so people can stare in amazement at your
  cool fish.

Reminder

• Make sure there is a top for your tank.

Things to remember

• Check your filters and your fish often.
• Remember that you must tear your tanks down
  Sunday morning.
• Saturday night is when we hand out the awards for
  the class winners. Make sure you are there to get
  your award and the accolades from your adoring
  public.
