The process by which those in authority are
selected, affirmed and replaced (Voice and
accountability political stability absence of
violence)
Governance indicators
- Differ along many other dimensions
- Are aggregated into distinct indices
- Measure different aspects on the quality of
governance, incl.
The capacity of government to formulate and
implement policies (Govt effectiveness
regulatory quality and the predictability of
policymaking)
The respect of citizens state for institutions
that govern interactions among them (Rule of
law control of corruption/severity of
corruption bureaucratic efficiency).

- Health and Food Security (efforts to maintain and
improve the nutritional health of the population)
- Housing and basic services (access to
housing/shelter, water, sanitation, electricity)
- Human Resource Development (approached from the
education system of indicators point of view)
Social indicators consist of six categories,
namely
- Social Cohesion (includes groups and networks
trust and solidarity collective action
co-operation information and communication
inclusivity empowerment and political action
- Poverty and Inequality (includes Gini-coefficient
and Human Poverty Index)
- Human Development (as measured by the Human
Development Index).
