    control charts
  • Control charts are not just something else to do
  • Control charts are a useful tool in evaluating
    the system

  • The STANDARD is OUT
  • The LCS FAILED
  • The BLANK DIDNT WORK

Control Charts
  • Recognize the problem not the symptom
  • The Standard is OUT is NOT the problem!
  • The problem is, The system does not produce
    consistent results as indicated by known values
    that are not reproduced consistently.

What to do.
  • Ignore it, deny that is exists
  • Make it bearable temporarily, ie. re-run the
    standards until they pass.
  • Run multiple standards and delete the ones that
    fail.

Solve the problem
  • If we dont solve the problem, we will continue
    to have the same failures.
  • Develop a solution that eliminates the root cause
    or reduces the impact of the issue.
  • Involve your supervisor and/or co-workers.
