2What is SIRM
- SIRM is known as The School of Information Risk
Management. - Established in April 2006.
- Registered in the Providers Register with DIUS.
- Registered at Companies House as PVT Limited
Company.
3SIRM and UK Universities
- The University of Greenwich (UOG) SIRM has
Articulation Agreement with UOGs School of
Computing and Mathematical Sciences (CMS) for MSc
Computer Security and Audit (Top Up). - Staffordshire University (SFU) SIRM is in
process of validation for four MSc (Top Up),
which is expected to be completed in July/August
2008. SIRM will obtain an Advance Standing
Agreement by SFU after the successful completion
of validation. - PLEASE NOTE SIRM is not a Partner College of any
of the above mentioned universities but has
Articulation Agreement with UOG and in process to
obtain Advance Standing Agreement by SFU. These
agreements will allow SIRM PgD holders to join
the University for MSc programs at dissertation
stage.
4SIRM Students
- SIRM started first academic session in February
2007 and taught 18 students. The entire batch has
successfully completed our PgD ISA and submitted
MSc CSA dissertation at the University of
Greenwich. They will obtain their MSc degree on
18th July 2008 by UoG on convocation day. - SIRM third batch of 32 students have finished
their PgD ISA and will be joining UoG in Sep 2008
to submit MSc CSA dissertation. They will obtain
their degree in February 2009. - Holders of SIRM PgD ISA can join the University
of Greenwich for MSc Computer Security and Audit
(Top Up) to obtain full MSc degree.
5What is SIRM Education
- Keeping in view the current situation of colleges
and UK immigration rules, SIRM has decided to
offer other colleges in UK to teach our
Postgraduate Diploma awards, which provides a
progression route for MSc programs. - SIRM has launched SIRM Education to offer
Franchise to other colleges. - SIRM Education is providing Franchise for our
Postgraduate Diploma programs. - PLEASE NOTE that this Franchise is not a
University or MSc Franchise but SIRMs
Postgraduate Diploma Franchise with a progression
route to MSc program.

8What is SIRM Education Franchise continue
- PgD in Information Security and Assurance is
recognised by the University of Greenwich and
provides a progression route for UoG MSc Computer
Security and Audit (Top Up) program. Currently
SIRM has an Articulation Agreement with the
University of Greenwich (UoG). Holders of our PgD
ISA can join the University of Greenwich for MSc
Computer Security and Audit at dissertation stage
for 3 months and upon the successful
dissertation, UoG will award the full MSc degree.

process of - validation by Staffordshire University for the

10What is SIRM Education Franchise continue
- SIRM is offering Postgraduate Diploma Franchise
to other colleges in - the UK. SIRM Partner Colleges can apply for our
Franchise to become - our Approved Course Provider and Examination
Centre. - PLEASE NOTE that SIRM Franchise is not at all a
UK University or - MSc Franchise. SIRM PgD provides a progression
route towards MSc - programs. Offering a Franchise of our own
Postgraduate Diploma, - SIRM does not require permission or authorization
from other - organizations such as University because it is
our own Diploma which - has appropriate recognition. The benefit to teach
SIRM PgD courses is, - It provides a progression route towards MSc
degree.
11SIRM PgD Credits and Recognition
- Total Credit Hours
- Postgraduate Master Degree in the UK has a sum of
180 credits. Our Postgraduate Diploma is of 120
credits whereas further 60 credits can be
obtained by dissertation. Upon the successful
completion of PgD and Dissertation, students will
obtain full 180 credits and MSc degree. - SIRM PgD Recognition
- University of Greenwich has recognized and accept
our PgD Information Security and Assurance (ISA)
for their MSc Computer Security and Audit program
(Top Up). - Staffordshire University is in process to
validate our programs. SIRM PgD will be
recognized and acceptable by Staffordshire
University for their MSc programs (Top Up).

14How to Register a Student
- Registering a student with SIRM is mandatory for
all Partner Colleges. - Following documents shall be sent to SIRM to
register a student - Filled and Signed SIRM registration form (can be
download from http//www.sirm-education.ac/UserFil
es/SRAF_Form.pdf) - Copy of Bachelor Degree and Mark Sheet
- 55/application (in case of less than 5
applications) or 35/application (in case of 5 or
more applications) sent at one time - Fee can be paid in the shape of Bankers Draft or
Cheque payable to The School of Information Risk

- Partner College can also obtain University
Conditional Letter for Dissertation for their
students, who wish to study SIRM courses. This
letter takes 3 weeks to be issued. - Following documents shall be sent to SIRM for
University Conditional Offer letter - Filled and Signed University Application form

16Franchise Term Conditions
- All Partner Colleges are required to read,
understand and follow our Terms Conditions and
abide by the rules. Any Partner College, who have
found in the breach of our terms and conditions,
will be responsible for the cancellation
of Franchise. In case of Franchise Cancellation,
all registrations of the students will be
cancelled automatically. Fee paid is
non-refundable (Franchise and Student
Registration) in case of franchise cancellation
and all other circumstances.

- Use of Franchise
- Partner Colleges shall operate under their
specific Franchise Category. - This Franchise is an agreement between SIRM and
Partner College and does not mean any direct link
between Partner College and the University. - Franchise will remain valid for 2 years and will
be reviewed after the expiry. - No further charges will be applicable in case of
the Franchise renewal after the expiry. - Partner College will be liable to pay 1000
annual subscription charges to SIRM. - Partner College will be required to submit a
Renewal Franchise Application (RFA) form to renew
the Franchise along with Travel (depend on the
location) and 1 day visit charges, which is 750.

- University Logo and Link
- Partner Colleges will only be allowed to use SIRM
logo but not Universitys logo. - Use of University logo will be taken as breach of
agreement and will lead to Franchise
cancellation. - Partner Colleges can mention the following in
their publicity material about SIRM and UK
University -
- (College Name) is fully Accredited by The School
of Information Risk Management (SIRM). (College
Name) is SIRMs Approved Course Provider and
Examination Centre for Postgraduate Diploma
awards. SIRM has an "Articulation Agreement" with
the University of Greenwich, School of Computing
and Mathematical Sciences (CMS). SIRM
Postgraduate Diploma holders are eligible to Join
UoG for MSc (Top Up) at dissertation stage to

- Mandatory Registration
- As you are well aware that Border and Immigration
Agency (BIA) has made it mandatory for all
students to provide a registration letter from
the course awarding body while applying for the
student visa at the relevant department such as
British High Commission or Home Office. To fulfil
the immigration requirement, we have made it
mandatory for our partner colleges to register
your students with us at the time of admission at
your centre. - SIRM will not verify any student, who is not
registered with us and registration details will
be given online on our website. - Students can not apply for SIRM registration
directly and all applications will be dealt
through the partner college.

- Advertisement Approval
- All partner colleges are required to use SIRM and
its partner organizations details as allowed. In
case of any thing new, which you think is
required to be mentioned in your publicity
material, please email us the text material and
designs for approval. Any unapproved or
unauthorized publishing will lead to the
cancellation of franchise without notice. - Quality Code of Conduct
- Being an approved Partner College, all colleges
are required to assure the quality of their
teaching provisions and maintain the educational
standards.

- SIRM reserves the right to obtain the time table
for SIRM courses and conduct sudden visits for
quality purposes. - Partner Colleges can be asked to make student
assignments, mock exams and attendance sheets
available on request to SIRMs external mediator.
- Upon completion of PgD, our external mediator
will visit to interview students at Partner
College and view their paper work, English
competency, assignments, final exam sheet and
papers. - Partner Colleges are required to recruit students
on SIRM courses according to the admissions guide
lines such as education equivalency (16 years
education), English competency and relevant
educational background. - All Partner Colleges are required to employ an
Experienced External Examiner.
22MSc Intakes at University
- There are two intakes for Msc Dissertation at
both Universities - January and September (Every Year)
- Partner Colleges can send student applications
for MSc Dissertation in January - And September every year. Please send us the
following documents for - enrolment at the University
- Filled and Signed University Application Form
- Copies of Previous Education documents
- Copy of SIRM Postgraduate Diploma
- Full fee of Dissertation (2,900 UOG or 2,650
for SFU) in the shape of Bankers Draft payable
to the School of Information Risk Management - PLEASE NOTE Students can pay half of the
Dissertation fee in advance and the - balance fee shall be paid with in 1 ½ month from
the Dissertation commencement date. - SIRM will email the registration dates for
University to all Partner Colleges 4 weeks - before the registration date.

following year) - As the Universities does no conduct June intake
due to which students - studying at Partner Colleges in September intake
will be able to finish their PgD - leading to MSc program in 1 ½ Year however
students in January and May - intake will be able to finish the full course in
1 Year. - Durations
24Student Registrations
- Students can not apply for SIRM registration
- directly and all applications will be dealt
through - the college.
- Following documents are required to obtain SIRM
Registration - Filled and Signed registration form.
- Copy of Bachelor Degree and Mark Sheet
- Bankers draft or cheque for 55/- (in case of
less than 5 applications) or 35/- (in case of 5
or more applications) payable to The School of
Information Risk Management.
25Entry Requirements
- Students must have the following to be eligible
to study - SIRM PgD courses
- Bachelor (Hons) degree equivalent to UK Graduate
from a Recognised University - In case of 2 years Bachelor degree, 2 years work
experience will be required with proof - IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. A letter from the recent
institution can also be provided if the mode of
language was English in Bachelor course.
26Charges
- Examination Fee
- Partner colleges are required to pay 15/module
in case of Franchise "A" only. - PgD Issuance Charges
- 250. These charges are payable at the time of
sending application for the award. In case of 10
or more successful students every nine months,
these charges will be reduced to 50 (125
each). - Annual Subscription Fee
- Partner College is required to pay Annual
Subscription fee of 1000. These charges will
be waived off upon the provision of 25 successful
students every nine months.
27Charges - continue
- Franchise Renewal Fee
- Franchise will be valid for the maximum of two
years from the date of issuance. SIRM will not
charge any fee for the renewal of Franchise but
Travel and One Day inspection charges will be
applicable. Travel charges will be applicable
according to the location whereas one day visit
charges are 750. Those colleges which are in
process of BAC/ASIC accreditation will be given
Franchise for one year and become valid for two
years upon the successful completion of BAC/ASIC
accreditation.

- Dissertation Fee
- The University of Greenwich charge 2,900 for the
dissertation whereas Staffordshire charges are
2650 for MSc dissertation.
