reports. - Latch contention is often a symptom due to a
legitimate problem such as non-sharable SQL,
sub-optimal SQL which performs full table or full
index scans, dynamic object creation/removal,
etc.. - Review the latch Statistics section of the Stats
Pack report to determine the hot latches. - Enable tracing for a few of the sessions waiting
on the latch as well as the holder to determine
the actual cause.
