    investigated needs
  • 1999 Progress towards RPA2000.
  • 2000 Discussions on amalgamation with other
    Societies.
  • 2001 Ad-hoc Group merged with Strategic
    Planning Committee.
  • Consultation of Members via
    Newsletter/e-discussion.
  • 2002 Draft first application produced, sent
    to Partner Societies etc.

Council is not proposing any change of name for
the Society on becoming a Chartered body

Consultation on Chartered RP Qualification (1)
  • Model
  • Option 1 Corporate Membership is Chartered
    Qualification, as with CMIOSH. Only one set of
    letters. Application for Corporate Membership is
    at this level.
  • Option 2 Retain MSRP/FSRP for Corporate
    Membership. Those who wish can apply for a
    modified or additional Chartered title, as with
    MInstP CPhys.

Level and requirements for Chartered title
  • Separate system from RPA2000.
  • 2. Grandfathering arrangement existing
    members can qualify.
  • Level to suit the needs of members and
    essentially be at no less than eg CPhys or CSci,
    with emphasis, where appropriate, on competences.
  • To be worked up by QPSCom.
  • Assessment by a panel of Chartered Members, eg
    subset of MemCom.
