Young Drivers An Increasing Problem ?

• Over 73,500 young European persons aged between
  16-24 years old were killed in traffic collisions
  in the last decade
• This represents 25 of all road fatalities

Its a Fact !

• On average, over 18 of all persons killed in
  road collisions are between 16-24
• Only 10 of the population falls within this age
  group
• Young people are at almost twice the risk of
  being killed in a road collision than other age
  groups

Where and when are they dying ?

• Over 60 fatalities involving young people occur
  in rural areas
• In the UK, more die in September and October than
  any other months of year
• Weekend fatality rates for young people are
  higher than the rates for the population as a
  whole across Europe.
