• What are these?
• They are plants members of the grass family.
• Where are they found?
• They are found along streams, around ponds,
  sloughs and along highways.
• Why are they called invasive?
• Phragmites are called invasive because they grow
  aggressively in areas, stifling growth of
  pre-existing plants.
• What are their distinguishing marks?
• They are distinguished by their huge stature, up
  to 12 feet tall and have large panicle of
  spiklets.
