Hot Bag Frog Tutorial

• Use sharp paper scissors
• Cut out paper frog along black pattern lines
• Be accurate!

• Fold fabric, good sides touching
• Pin paper pattern onto fabric with 8 pins
• Be sure pins go in down and up

• Use fabric scissors
• Cut out frog using edge of pattern as guide
• Remove pins
• Remove pattern
• Put pins back in
• This is important!!

• Machine sew frog
• Use edge of pigs toes as guide
• Leave frog open at crotch
• Teacher check
• Sew again to reinforce
• Trim seam carefully!!!!!!

• Turn frog inside out
• Use pencil to help
• Press pencil against seam to shape frog
• Try hard!

• Make sure frog is carefully pencil pressed so
  it is shaped LIKE A FROG!
• This is the hardest step!
• You can do it!

• Aim funnel into crotch
• Carefully pour in about 375 ml of wheat kernels
• Upper body will feel chubby, not skinny

• Put two pins in crotch to hold the kernels in
• Get a needle and thread ready use double thread
  in a color that will be invisible when sewn

• Use overcast stitch
• Sew small even stitches
• End with a lock stitch
• Check for leakage!

• Mark location of eyes with felt marker
• Sew eyes tightly with a knotted, double thread
• Stitch 6-8 times in each button

• Find green self evaluation form in your booklet
• Mark each section to evaluate your work
• Pin green form to frog
• Put into IN basket!
