3Your class rosters, Attendance Record Book and
Summer School Record Forms will be distributed on
the first day of each session. Students should
come in with a class card.
4- Students will receive the Summer School Rules
- and Regulations sheet when they register.

- They will be collected when your daily attendance
sheet is collected. REFER TO SLIDE 15 FOR
ATTENDANCE RECORDING PROCESS IN IMPACT SUMMER
DATABASE. - Please distribute forms to students who have not
received/returned one.
5Summer School High School Record Complete a
form for every student on your roster. Enter
ALL information. Keep the forms until the end
of the session as you will use them to enter
grades. Reporting of Daily Attendance at
830a.m. Attendance Book Complete all
information including student personal
information, attendance and all grades earned.
Keep accurate attendance and grades, as questions
about grades/attendance may be made months after
class has ended. Drop List Submit this form to
the Main Office with the name(s) of students who
have had their 3rd absence or more than 3
tardies. Include No Shows on the 3rd day.
Students are to be officially dropped in your
Attendance Book when you receive the initial form
back.
6Progress Report Cards Session I Midterm Report
Cards will be d istributed on June 18th, July
2nd, Session II July 15th and July
27th. Midterm Report Cards Session I Midterm
Report Cards will be distributed on June 25th,
Session II July 20th. Report Cards Report
Cards will be distributed on July 7th and July
30th. Please note July 7th will be a full
class day. July 30th will be a grade pick-up day
(TBA)
7Copies If you are able to use your department
copier, a limited amount of paper will be
provided for your use. If you are not able to
use your department copier, please complete a
copy request form and leave them with the main
office staff person at least three days in
advance. If you have any questions, please
contact Ana Espinoza in room 185 or at
5-2113. Note Due to security concerns, there
will be no room changes.
8Curie High School Summer School Rules and
Regulations Summer, 2009 The Curie High School
Administration encourages all students to
successfully earn necessary credit(s) for
graduation. Therefore, you are reminded all
school rules in the Curie Handbook and in the CPS
Student Code of Conduct are enforced during
summer school. Students in violation of school
rules face disciplinary action. Each day of
suspension counts as an absence from
school. Plan to be present, follow the rules,
and earn your credit(s)!
9- Important Reminders
- Doors open at 745 a.m. Breakfast is served until
800 a.m. in the 1W Lunchroom. - Bag lunches will be served at 1230 in the 1W
Lunchroom for interested students. - Students who are absent from class more than two
times will be dropped from class. - Students more than 30 minutes late will await
parent pick-up in the Office and be marked
Absent from class. Students tardy more than
three times will be dropped.
10- Summer School IDs must be displayed at all
times. Temporary IDs cost 2.00. - Cell phones must be OFF including during breaks.
- Book bags are discouraged during summer school.
- No open beverages in bottles or cups may be
brought inside the building. Glass bottles are
not allowed. - The Curie Dress Code will be enforced daily.
Appropriate dress is required.
11- Bare midriff and backs, halters, tube tops,
revealing sleeveless and low necklines and
see-through clothing - Dresses, skirts, shorts, etc. shorter than
fingertip length when standing at attention - Tops worn as dresses
- Excessively baggy or low pants
- Uncovered white underwear (including T-shirts and
athletic shirts) and tank tops - Noticeably torn or dirty clothing
- Bare feet or thong-type sandals
12- Clothing with obscene pictures or lettering or
unacceptable words - Outer garments, pajamas or sleep garments
- Uncovered tattoos
- Hats, caps, bandanas and sunglasses
- Wallet chains, chains on clothing or ID cards or

- Goal
- To support the successful transition from
elementary school to high school by giving 9th
grade students an opportunity to participate in
summer academic and enrichment programs. - Freshman Connection AM / PM
- Academic sessions 830am 1230pm
- English and Math instruction (90 minutes each)
- Counseling support (60 minutes)

14- Youth Leaders
- Current sophomores and juniors (rising juniors
and seniors) - 2 positions assigned per teacher
- Support morning and afternoon sessions
- Lead afternoon teambuilding activities
- Mandatory training
- Student Incentives / Transportation
- Students who meet the attendance requirements
(miss 2 days or less) and complete the program
successfully will receive an MP3 Player and an
I-Tunes gift card. - Free baseball and basketball tickets (tentative)
- Weekly CTA Fare Card (for students who need them)
15- Freshman Connection Summer School Student
Attendance - Record and submit attendance in IMPACT Summer
database prior to the end of each class. The
Username and Password are the same ones you use
for the regular school year. In addition, the
attendance slips indicating students absent will
be picked up daily (summer school only). - If a student is late to class after attendance
was submitted, please fill out a correction form
and return it to the main office. Forms can be
found in the main office. - If you are unable to access the IMPACT SIM summer
database, please notify the main office
immediately. - Please keep an extra copy of your class rosters
and attendance records available in case IMPACT
is not available or in case of emergencies,
including fire drills. - 5. Early dismissals should be directed to the
main office. The - parent/guardian is required to pick up the
student and must - present a picture ID.

slide 7). - Freshman Connection Students may enter the
building at 815am. Students who arrive after
900am will not be allowed to enter the building. - All students are to remain out of the locker
areas. - Students are not allowed to leave the floor or
building until dismissed. Once you leave you
cannot re-enter the building. All students must
