• Goal is 1) to develop new methodology for boron
  particles 2) to produce air stable boron
  particles by functionalization with fluorinated
  alkyl chains

Pyrolysis of boranes under inert atmosphere can
yield highly pure boron particles
Passivation of boron particles with alkyl chains
could prevent formation of oxide layer that
causes ignition delay
The presence of fluorine environment could 1)
make any oxide layer vaporize fast 2) avoid
formation of HBO2 that slows down burning process
