• Neil Armstrong- First man to walk on the moon
  in 1969. Stepped off of the EAGLE, which is
  the first landing module on the moon.

• Eagle- first moon module
• Challenger- space shuttle that exploded during
  take-off.
• Skylab- USAs first space station, fell out of
  orbit in 1979 and it landed in the Indian Ocean
• International Space Station- a new space station
  developed by the USA and the Russian Republic

• Satellites
• A natural or artificial body that revolves around
  a planet
• Satellites in GEO remain in one position and are
  better for communications
• Examples
• Sputnik I- first artificial satellite sent in
  space
• Tiros I- first USA weather satellite
• Explorer I- first satellite launched by USA

• Space Probes
• A vehicle that carries scientific instruments to
  planets or other bodies in space
• Examples
• Clementine-discovered evidence of water at the
  south pole of the moon
• Pioneer 10- visited outer planets, about to leave
  our solar system
• Voyager 2- first to fly past the gas giants
