Key IDN Actions

• Deployed IDN RFCs to OTE on 8/20
• Currently conducting Beta testing
• Registrars have reported no major issues
• Production Deployment
• All existing registrations converted to RFCs
• Non-conforming registrations will be deleted
• Registrars have already been notified of these
• Migration window for Registrars begins
• Provides schedule flexibility for registrars

Registrar IDN Requirements

• Migrate from IDN internet-drafts to IDN RFCs
• Convert systems to send punycode encoded ASCII
  strings
• Convert data to RFC compliant format
• VeriSign published IDN SDK in April of 2003 to
  assist registrars
• Upgrade RRP
• New field language tag
• Associates a registration with a specific
  language so that local character variants can be
  applied
• Optional during migration window
• Registrars must supply a default language tag for
  IDNs received with no language tag
• Integrate language into their purchase flow

WLS Action Items

• September 24 - Operational Testing Evaluation
• To have usernames passwords generated for OTE
  Registrars should follow one of these two paths
• Existing Name Store customers need to notify
  their account managers or customer service of
  their intention to launch the service
• Those yet to sign up for Name Store should down
  load the Name Store Merchant Agreement return
  two signed copies
• Download the WLS Name Store SDK
• Make sure credit available to the channel partner
  account is sufficient to cover expected
  subscriptions

Registrant Notification

• Special Service Condition
• Existing registrant to be notified of WLS
  subscription
• Registrar of record has first right of refusal to
  make such notification
• Option will be issued by VNDS prior to October
• WLS posts daily subscription report to RoR FTP
• If they choose not to notify, the WLS register
  will notify their customers instead
• Weekly updated list of participating registrars
  posted to the registrar web page
