The Yapp Charitable Trust
  • Makes small grants for running costs and
    salaries, to sustain existing work.
  • Will consider applications for up to three years
  • Single year grants are usually for up to 3,000.
    Two or three-year grants are for up to 3,000 a
    year. Most of the grants are for more than one
    year.
  • Funding rounds are three times a year.

Allen Lane Foundation
  • Interested in unusual, imaginative or pioneering
    projects, which have perhaps not yet caught the
    public imagination.
  • Single, one-off grants range from as little as
    500 up to 15,000. Grants repeated for more than
    one year vary from about 500 per annum up to
    5,000 per annum, for a maximum of three years.
  • Will make single grants, or grants for two or
    three years
  • Aimed at reducing isolation, stigma and
    discrimination.

The Henry Smith Charity
  • Funding for one year only.
  • Includes purchase/ refurbishment of a building,
    purchase of specialist equipment, other similar
    capital expenditure, or one year's running costs.
    grants must be used within six months of being
    awarded
  • Small grants of 10,000 or less per year are
    given to organisations with an annual income of
    less than 150,000. Repeat applications can be
    considered
  • Larger groups can request 10,000 or more, also
    for one year only.

Esmee Fairbairn Foundation
  • There is no maximum grant size
  • If you are applying to fund a post, include the
    job description and person
  • specification for the post. They do not often
    fund more than one post.
  • Apply for a grant at any time. Trustees meet four
    times a year and you do not need to time your
    application to coincide with these meetings.

The Tudor Trust
  • They are most interested in helping smaller,
    under-resourced organisations which offer direct
    services and which involve the people they work
    with in their planning.
  • Grants can take the form of core funding
    (including salaries and running costs),
    development funding, project grants or capital
    grants for buildings or equipment.

Trusthouse Charitable Foundation
  • Especially concerned with areas of deprivation.
  • Majority are small grants (averaging 5,000). A
    small number of larger grants (i.e. over 10,000)
    are awarded each year.
  • Grants for one-off purposes - must be spent
    within six months of receipt.
  • Grants can be for one-off capital items, such as
    equipment or small capital works, or towards six
    months running costs.

Lloyds TSB
  • Focus is on supporting smaller underfunded
    charities that help people who are disadvantaged
    to play a fuller role in their communities.
  • Happy to consider applications for all core and
    similar costs. They do not publish formal
    "deadline dates".

Charles Hayward Foundation
  • Predominantly fund capital costs BUT
    occasionally, project funding may be offered for
    start-up or development activities where these
    are not part of the on-going revenue requirement
    of the organisation.
  • The small grant scheme makes grants up to 5,000
    only to charities with an annual turnover of less
    than 250,000.
  • Where agreed, project funding may be granted for
    a maximum of three years in duration, and will be
    tapered downwards if appropriate.
  • Project funding may be up to 15,000 per year
    over three years.
