History

• Started in 1986 as a forum for IS directors
• (clients of BCHS3)
• Broadly expanded to include individuals drawn
  from
• health authorities
• provincial/national agencies (RNABC, CIHI, etc.)
• provincial government
• private sector (vendors, consultants, etc.)

Mission

• To contribute to improved health information
  management in British Columbia by creating
  opportunities for education, collaboration and
  contribution to related initiatives at the local,
  provincial and national level.
