the electronic form. Minimal access should

EP Module
  • Portion of NDE where you create and track SCDs.
SCD are the responsibility of the Submitter who
has ownership of the SCD from cradle to grave.
Any NDE user can initiate a SCD but until
submission it is a record only document.
Submission of the SCD begins the SHIPMAIN
    process.

EP Module
  • The ability to create an NDE-NM alteration based
on a SCD is controlled by 2 factors
  • Has the SCD been voted through a Decision Point
  • Is the SCD a Ship Modification or any combination
containing a Ship Modification in which case the
appropriate SPM ( PEO Ships for everything but
Carriers and PEO Carriers for Carriers) creates
the alteration or is it an Equipment Modification
or stand-alone Software in which case the
appropriate PARM or their ISEA creates the
    alteration
  • For additional clarification see slide 61

22
NDE-NM
  • NDE-NM is the Portion of NDE where all Alteration
    Configuration Types based on SCDs
    (SA/AER/MA/OA/EC/FC/SWDs etc.) are created and
scheduled for installation. All users are given
    view access. Additional privileges are
    controlled by the NDE Administrator.
  • NDE account user information is maintained using
Account Info option in the NDE-NM module

  • For ADHOC queries at the ALTERATION level use
    Alteration/Visit View as entry point.
  • (When using the Default query make sure that the
    Ship field is unchecked)

  • During the transitional period, we continue to
use the legacy process where the SPM(PEO
Carriers/PEO Ships) for all Ship Modification
SCDs, including any SCD with a combination
containing a Ship Modification creates SA/AERs
  • For Equipment Modifications and stand-alone
Software SCDs PARMs/ISEAs using the appropriate
legacy configuration type (OA, FC,EC,SWD, MA etc)
and using Alteration/Visit Add create the
    alteration
  • These are legacy processes and previous policy
continues to determine who has these privileges
