NEW INITIATIVES TAKEN DURING KHARIF 2007

• Area under hybrid paddy increased to 2.0 lac
  hect. from 1 lac hect.
• Area under Bt. Cotton increased from 41,000
  hectares to 3.0 lac hectares
• Seed supplied through Govt. agency
• Area under water guzzling Summer Paddy reduced
  substantially
• Area 2005 - gt 40000 ha.
• Area 2006 - 1249 ha.
• Area 2007 - lt 500 ha.
• Area under Dhaincha increased from 10,000
  hectares to more than 52,000 hectares
• 16000 qtl. seed of dhaincha distributed free of
  cost to the farmers.
