Stakeholder Dialogues (SDs)

    2-way communication processes between parties
    from different societal sectors that have mutual
    interest to participate in the process

Stakeholder Dialogues in Sustainability Reports
  • Our dialogue with stakeholders, especially NGOs,
    can lead to new and innovative solutions for
    sustainability matters
  • Contributing to sustainable development means to
    react in a societal and environmental responsible
    manner to market demands. This starts with
    listening to stakeholders to begin to understand
    societal expectations

    characteristics joint decision making on agenda
    and rules of the game, search for consensus,
    sincere, open speakers etc.

Central Focus in Paper
  • In this paper the focus is on the
    characteristics of the dialogue practice of MNCs
    known for their active stakeholder engagement.
    Organizational learning theory is applied to
    examine, interpret and explain the observed
    consequences of dialogue practices for the
    environmental performance of the MNCs and for the
    relationship between the MNCs and its
    stakeholders.
