• The legal age for voting is 18.
• For the states of Lower Saxony,
  Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North
  Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony-Anhalt, and
  Schleswig-Holstein, the legal age is 16 for local
  elections.

Legal Age For Alcohol And Cigarettes

• The legal age for beer and wine is 16, while for
  spirits, which is hard liquor, it is 18. For
  cigarettes, it is 16.
• The drinking age isnt enforced for minors who
  are drinking in private.
• Minors in possession of alcohol wont be
  punished, but the people that supplied the
  alcohol for them can be punished.

• A drivers license in Germany cost 1,500-2,000.
  To get your license you must have a minimum of
  25-45 hours of instruction from a professional
  and 12 hours of theory. A license in Germany is
  good for life.

• If an 18 year old were to want to get married to
  a 16 year old, it would have to be authorized by
  the courts.

• The age that Germans enlist in the military is
  18.
• Men have mandatory military service of nine
  months.
• Women can volunteer and are allowed to do the
  same jobs as men.
• Men who are in educational or vocational training
  programs before their military assignment are
  allowed to postpone their service. Once they
  have completed their training they can be called
  to perform their national duty at any time.

• Aliens in Germany dont have much contractual
  ability, but there was a new act past for them.
• First time aliens of Germany can possess a visa,
  whether or not it was obtained in Germany after
  entering the country, and be allowed a residence
  permit or a settlement permit.
• Limited residence permits are given to aliens
  that are in Germany for education or training,
  gainful employment, international-law,
  humanitarian, or political grounds.
• Unlimited residence permits are issued when an
  alien has had a residence permit for at least
  five years and has a secure income, no criminal
  record, and adequate command of the German
  language.
