- The major change is that Chapter 12 (Serials) has
been revised and renamed Continuing Resources. - Changes implemented to address concept of
seriality within resources issued over time
(serials, loose-leaf publications). - The rules in this chapter will also cover a
newly-defined category of resources called
integrating resources. -
3- Integrating Resource Definition
- A bibliographic resource that is added to or
changed by means of updates that do not remain
discrete and are integrated into the whole. - Examples include Updating loose-leaf
publications and updating Web sites.

- The Library of Congress has announced that it
will begin using the new revisions as of December
1, 2002. - Revisions to the Library of Congress Rule
Interpretations (LCRI) related to the AACR2
amendments will be published in late summer 2002.
