Database(New Interactive Graphics Capability)
Objective To allow analysts to view wildlife
strike patterns with a wide variety of variables
including species, seasons, migration patterns,
etc. on US, state and airport diagrams. (Current
implementation includes Major Metropolitan
Airports and airports with over 200 reported
strikes as of March 31, 2006 - 94 total. The list
will continue to be expanded in the coming months)

(Current Activities I)
On-demand generation of Graphical Information
System (GIS Google-Earth) overlays of reported
birdstrikes. Eventually we hope this to include
all airport wildlife data including airport
real-time bird detecting radar data.

ERAU/Prescott has been selected as Birdstrike
Advisory Center (Data Processing Center) for the
(just initiated) North American Bird Strike
Advisory System (NABSAS). NABSAS is a joint US
and Canadian Civil/Military to develop an
integrated system to minimize the effects of
costly (and sometimes deadly) birdstrikes.
Sept 1995 AWACS crash site from Canada Geese
struck at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska which claimed 24
lives.
