Where When the Lumbees lived

• The Lumbee Indians lived between 1587 and are
  still living today. They lived on islands by
  North Carolina, and in southern North Carolina in
  a county called Robeson.

Environment

• The Lumbees had lots of sandy soil and lived by
  forests. They also lived by the Piedmont and had
  lots of wood for houses.

Shelters

• The shelters are mostly made of wood since
  there were lots of forests and trees.

Logo

• The circle shape of the logo represents the
  circle of life. The colors are (east) yellow,
  (south) red, (west) black, and (north) white.

Legends

• The legend of the Lumbee is that the eagle
  feather is divided into two parts light and dark.
  That means night and day, summer and winter,
  peace and war, and life and death.

Interesting Facts

• Some interesting facts about the Lumbees are
  that there are still 52,000 Lumbees living. They
  also have their own school now known as Pembroke
  State University.
