EARTH

• We live on a planet called Earth
• Earth is the only known planet to have human life
• The earth rotates around the sun

The Earths Moon

• Our moons name is Luna
• It has valleys, volcanoes, and mountains
• The moon is more than 384,000 kilometers from
  Earth

Venus

• Very hot temperatures
• About the same size as Earth
• Has no oceans

Mercury

• Smaller than planet Earth
• Very close to the sun
• Lava from volcanoes has helped to shape the
  surface
• Hot when facing the sun
• Cold when not facing the sun

Saturn

• Saturn has beautiful rings surrounding it
• These rings are made up of small particles
• Rotates rapidly
• Rocky surface

Jupiter

• Great Red Spot
• Huge storm systems with lots of lightening
• At least 27 moons
• 3 rings

Mars

• Big dust storms
• May have lakes or oceans
• Cold temperatures
• Red color
• Much smaller than planet Earth

Neptune

• Very strong winds in atmosphere
• At least 8 moons
• Believed to have storms
• Very cold
• 2 thin rings that surround it
• Blue-green color

• Very cold temperatures
• Strong winds
• 21 moons
• Rotates on its side
• Cold methane gas gives blue-green color

• Farthest planet from the sun
• Smallest planet in solar system
• Icy surface
• Discovered in 1930
• Exhibits both bright and dark features

• Very big star that is closest to Earth
• Located in the Milky Way galaxy
• Gives off heat and provides light
• Earth rotates around the sun due to its
  gravitational pull

• They are made hot gas
• They glow because of energy produced by nuclear
  fission

Clouds

• Clouds are made up of tiny water droplets
• Form due to condensation
• Different types cause different weather

Day to Night

• During the day the sky is usually blue and the
  sun shines brightly
• At dusk the sun begins to set and the moon rises
• It becomes darker and stars appear
