Progress so far

• Trained all teachers including all new staff
• Trained all 7 classroom assistants
• Social skills and behaviour support a major part
  of the schools work
• Dina School run regularly in Infants classes.
• All principles used in Key Stage 2 in the
  development of a social skills and emotional
  intelligence programme
• Regular reviews with staff to reinforce
  principles.

• 40 of schools families have had at least one
  parent attend

  trained as group leaders

• Invited to be a pilot school - research project
• 2 teachers and school SEN Higher Level Teaching
  Assistant trained as group leaders.
• 24 children, aged 4 9, identified for small
  group work
• 3 sessions held with 2 groups of 6 children so
  far
• Working towards recruiting some parents for
  course to run concurrently.

Aspirations for the future

• Bro Lleu children and parents keep learning vital
  skills
• Work closer with health professionals in the area
  to further support parents, especially pre school
  age
• Develop work with secondary school support
  children
• Inspire other schools to start IY Parenting
  Groups
• 3 Gwynedd schools interested.
• Recognition of the importance of IY programmes
• All schools adequately trained and funded to be
  able to offer support to children and families.
