On November 30, 2016, U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Julián Castro announced that free housing policy in the U.S. will be required to provide a smoke-free environment for their residents. This hud section 8 smoke free housing policy applies to all public housing other than dwelling units in mixed-finance buildings.
