13Bill Rodgers (Avalon)
- Certain human cultures have been waging war
against the Earth for millennia. I chose to fight
on the side of bears, mountain lions, skunks,
bats, saguaros, cliff rose and all things wild. I
am just the most recent casualty in that war. But
tonight I have made a jail break -- I am
returning home, to the Earth, to the place of my
origins." - Bill Rodgers committed suicide in his Arizona
jail cell December 21st, 2005 after being accused
by the FBI of involvement in a half-dozen ELF and
ALF actions spanning a period of several years.
14What I ask is that people continue fighting for
what's right for the wilderness, animals and each
other. Don't forget those who have fallen already
and those facing life behind bars. Darren
Thurston, 2006
