Desuperheater is a device used to save the energy by cooling a superheated steam in a power generation plant. Superheated steam has important advantages on certain applications, for example, when used in power stations to drive turbines. For efficient use on heating applications however, the steam must be desuperheated. Desuperheating is the process by which superheated steam is restored to its saturated state, or the superheat temperature is reduced. Basically there are two types of superheaters.

Ammonia purifier is often used in many processing industries. Water, dirt and oil residues are non-avoidable in the all kinds of major industrial refrigeration plants where, ammonia is often used. This causes large range of problems in the plant in general, and also in the compressors. This means that the regular maintenance interval prescribed by a System Integrator is no longer sufficient and the over-all operating costs of the system reaches an unnecessary high limits.
