  • 1917- Jackson Memorial Hospital opened its doors
  • 1972- Dade County Board of County Commissioners
    established Jackson as the Public Health Trust,
    the only hospital in the County funded to serve
    the indigent

    responsibility to plan for the health of all

    Government were transferred to JHS

    satisfaction surveys, outcome measures monitoring
    have been implemented or improved

  • All Primary Care Centers are monitored quarterly
    on 35 standards developed by JHS based on Healthy
    Communities 2010, such as
  • Percent accessing pre-natal care within first
    trimester
  • Timely vaccinations for children and adults
  • Education on healthy lifestyles
  • Reports are reviewed and strategies are
    developed to improve outcomes
