- As of the 18th century the chalumeau was
converted to one of the first clarinets and
became disused. - This development is usually attributed to a
German instrument maker named Johann Christop
Denner, though some have suggested his son Jacob
Denner was the inventor.

8When was the modern form of your instrument
discovered or invented?
- An instrument similar to the clarineta
cylindrical cane tube played with a cane reedwas
in use in Egypt as early as 3000 B.C. Instruments
of this type were used across the Near East into
modern times, and other clarinet prototypes were
played in Spain, parts of Eastern Europe, and in
Sardinia.

- Braeana I chose the Clarinet because I didnt
want a instrument that was too high and I didnt
want one that was too low. I did want a
instrument that could do both.
- Tesia I choose the Clarinet just because I
liked the way it looked and it looked easy!

- The clarinet is the best instrument, because it
has an awesome sound. - Its not too low
- Its not too high
- Its not too heavy
- Its just right!

- In 1818 the first metal clarinet was created.
- In 1869 the first machine made reeds were made.
- In 1803, J. F. Semiot claims to have made a
12-keyed clarinet, sadly, his work was not well
known.
