Title: ENZYMES FOR PAPER INDUSTRY

1
ENZYMES FOR PAPER INDUSTRY
  • Richcore Lifesciences Pvt ltd
  • Bangalore

2
Enzymes
Microbial Bio-catalysts which influence the rate
of organic reactions.
3
Effect Of Enzyme Addition
4
  • RICHPULP
  • (Enzyme formulation for Bleach Boosting of Paper)

5
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS
  • Chemical family Hemi-Cellulase
  • Molecular weight 24 kDa
  • Physical state Amber liquid
  • Appearance odor Mild fermentation odor
  • pH6-9.5

6
MODE OF ACTION
BLEACH BOOSTING
  • Lignin or chromophores, generated during the
Kraft cook, react with carbohydrate moieties
  • Hemicellulases liberate residual lignin by
    releasing xylan-chromophore fragments, thereby
    increasing their extractability.

7
MODE OF ACTION (COTD)
8
RICHPULP ACTION
9
DOSAGE GUIDELINES
  • Diluted solution of enzyme to be mixed with pulp
at 8 10 consistency at the brown stock decker
    outlet for dispersion
  • Dosage 0.3 to 0.5 kgs/ton of
    pulp
  • Optimal pH 6 9.5
  • Temperature 35 700C
  • Residence Time 1 to 4 hours.

10
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
  • Check for the last brownstock decker outlet
    volume/min
  • Add Richpulp _at_ 0.3-0.5 kg/ton of pulp outflow at
    the outlet
  • Min contact time of Richpulp with the pulp should
    be 1-4 hours

11
RICHPULP ADVANTAGES
  • Substitution of upto 15 of the total active
chlorine in ECF bleaching improves the
    sufficiency of ClO2.
  • Higher final brightness (up to 2 ) or reduction
in chemical consumption in TCF bleaching.
  • Reduced organic chlorine levels (upto20 of AOX)
    in effluents.
  • Marginal improvements (upto 5) in strength
    properties of the fibers.

12
  • PROREFINE
  • (Enzyme Formulation for Paper Refining)

13
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS
  • Chemical family Cellulase
  • Molecular weight 27 kDa
  • Min Enzyme Activity 2600 ? 200 CMCase units/gm
  • Physical state Offwhite Powder
  • Appearance odor Mild fermentation odor
  • pH 6.50.5

14
Mode Of Action PROREFINE
15
FIBRE PROPERTIES
16
MODE OF ACTION
  • Separation Rearrangement of paper fibrils that
    enhances inter-fiber bonding
  • Change in surface fibre morphology, such as
    flakes and peeling
  • Selective digestion of short fibers thus
    enhancing Freeness

17
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
  • Measure the pulp inflow rate/min into the
    pulper
  • Dilute requisite quantity(0.5-1.5 kg/ton of
pulp) of Prorefine with water (115 dilution)
  • Add Prorefine at the batch pulpers to the
    pulp with 2-6 pulp consistency ( pHlt7.5, 45-65
    ÂșC).
  • Pump the pulp to storage chest (total
storage time 30-120min prior to pumping the
    stock to the refiner)
  • Allow the treated pulp into refiners

18
DOSAGE GUIDELINES
  • Diluted solution of enzyme to be mixed with
    pulp
  • (2 6 )consistency at the batch pulper outlet
    before inflow into storage tank
  • Dosage 0.5-1.5 kg/ton of
    pulp
  • Optimal pH 4-7.5
  • Temperature 45 65 0C
  • Residence Time 30-120 min.

19
PROREFINE ADVANTAGES
  • Enhances Drainage (reduced SR value by 18-20)
  • Reduces refining energy load
  • - 15-20 for soft wood,
  • - 20-25 for hard wood
  • Reduces total BOD and COD (25-30 )
  • Increase in BOD / COD ratio for higher effluent
    biodegradability
  • Decreased Paper-breaks
  • Decreased level of Colloidal matter(resinoids) in
    the paper machine.
