The project takes shape
As the weather begins to turn cold, the children
express concern for the birds. They decide to
make bird feeders to hang outside their
classroom windows.

What do birds look like?
The children begin to draw pictures of
colorful birds.

A visit from the Sharon Audobon Society gives the
children an up-close and personal look at some
very interesting birds!

What the Snapdragons learned about birds

• Birds have feathers, beaks, wings and hollow
  bones.
• Birds lay eggs.
• Most birds can fly and some can swim.
• Owls can turn their heads all the way around.
• Owls have very large eyes to see in the dark.
• Falcons like to eat grasshoppers.
