Mission
TF - 385 (385th TC BN and assigned units)
conducts terminal operations in support of the
deployment of Operation Iraqi Freedom II (OIF
II) and redeployment of Operation Iraqi Freedom I
(OIF I) forces at the port of Ash Shuaibah from
14 February 2004 until further notice.

Commanders Intent
I intend for TF-385 to conduct sustained marine
terminal operations Roll-on / Roll-Off (RO / RO),
Lift-On / Lift-Off (LO / LO) and marshalling
activities in support of deployment and
redeployment forces for OIF.

Commanders Intent
To ensure success, all leaders and soldiers must
meet the following critical tasks 1.
Accurately assess risks, and take necessary
actions to control the risks 2. Maintain full
and accurate accountability of equipment
discharged or uploaded 3. Communicate status
changes and new information quickly and correctly

Commanders Intent
We measure success by accomplishing all mission
requirements to the approved standard, with no
serious injuries, and with less than 0.1 damage
rate to pieces moved.

  • Provide Command and Control (C2) for the
    deployment, redeployment and overflow yards
  • Provide prime movers to move equipment to and
    from the yards and the pier, responsible for yard
    signage and traffic directional markers
  • Conduct 24 hour crane/vessel discharge and upload
    (LO/LO) operations,
  • Provide soldiers as ramp safeties and ground
    guides

  • Replacements will be from Home Station.
  • Operations are expected to go through FY05.

  • Transported over 7500 tons of Cargo in FY04
  • Conducted operations in Qatar, Bahrain, UAE,
    Oman, and Iraq.
