Title: PAN AFRICANIST MOVEMENT PAM

1
PAN AFRICANIST MOVEMENT (PAM)
  • Profile

2
Historic Background
  • Pan Africanist Movement was formed by former
members of the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania
    (PAC).
  • These members challenged Letlapa Mphahlele on 2
major issues eg that his suspension of the PAC
constitution on 22 September 2007 was unlawful
and the subsequent dissolution of the National
    Executive Committee (NEC).
  • Letlapa issued a court interdict against the
aggrieved members which he subsequently won by
    technicality at Bloemfontein High Court.
  • Aggrieved members subsequently decided to
revive PAM which was led by Clarence Makwetu in
1989 to revive the fortunes of the PAC and claim
the soul of the PAC from Letlapa group whom we
believe are on a mission to dilute and destroy
    the PAC.
  • PAM was eventually launched on 17-18 December
2009 at Khayelitsha in Cape Town.
  • PAM got its official Registration Certificate
