Built on a steep, terraced hillside, an ancient
temple across the plunging gorge, this Balinese
hideaway is often described as heaven on earth.
The Brief The Ultimate Library was asked to
upgrade the library of old books left behind by
former guests and create an intelligent new
reading and reference collection that helps guest
understand their environment and create a Sense
of Place. To reflect the brand values of
Orient-Express Hotels in helping guests better
discover their local world.
3The Solution
- A collection of the best 40 reading and reference
books including guides, travel literature, local
history, culture, nature and illustrated titles,
for guests who wished to discover Bali at a
different pace. - Two small Suite libraries comprising a reading
shelf and 5 illustrated books to inspire, inform
and entertain. - The Cinema Paradiso collection of 29 films
featuring the very best in world cinema was added
to the existing best of Hollywood collection and
a Best of Bali and Asia collection is currently
being added. - Ultimate Library advised on operational
procedures, presentation, security, marketing and
other issues that enable this concept to be
developed into a robust and scalable brand
standard. - The total cost for the trial was 3,000 with an
ongoing 1,000 for annual upgrades -

to enhance your guest proposition - Buying Service through our extensive contacts in
the publishing world we are able to source the
best prices and those hard to find titles - Distribution. We will look for ways to overcome
any importing challenges by distributing the
goods through a local hub. - Setting Up and Training Our local agents were on
hand to set up the library, reconfigure DVD
players, train hotel staff and visit the site
regularly to discuss feedback and further
requirements - Marketing Guidelines. We provide marketing
guidelines to maximise the potential of the hotel
library. This includes complimentary booklists
for hotels to send to their guests, for monthly
newsletters or for the turn down service
