Aarons Early Life

• Aaron was born November 14, 1900. He was brought
  up in a Russian-Jewish immigrant family. Aaron
  was born the fifth child in the city of Brooklyn,
  New York.

Information On Aaron

• Aaron learned to play the piano from his older
  sister Laurine. A short time after Aaron was in
  his first concert at a young age of fifteen.
  Copland was awarded the first monetary grant from
  the Guggenheim Memorial Foundation enabling him
  to continue his work. Copland made a change for
  a while turning towards the american folk style
  and leaving jazz behind.

• Other than music Aaron also wrote several books
