Characteristics
  • Horses can weigh as little as 20 pounds and as
    heavy as 3,300 pounds.
  • There are many different colors of horses. They
    can be brown, black, gray, pinto, and bay with
    many types of markings.
  • There are over 350 different types of horses that
    are grouped into four main categories.
  • Light
  • Heavy
  • Ponies
  • Feral
  • Horses have life spans of 20 to 30 years.

Habitats
  • Horses live all over the world just like people.
    They live in mountain areas where it is cold and
    snowy. They also live in deserts where it is
    very hot. Horses can survive in various extreme
    climates.
