Facts on Notre Dame

• Paris, capital of France is located in northern
  France on both banks of the Seine River
• Notre Dame can be found on a island- the Ile de
  la cite in Paris.
• Probably Notre Dame is the most famous cathedral
  in the world.
• The distance to all towns is measured by Notre
  Dame (in Paris)
• It was started being in 1163 but has been changed
  since then.
• The pope of Alexander was the third person who
  placed the first foundation.

• Notre Dame in French means Our Lady.
• During the French Revolution the cathedral was
  damaged.
• The cathedral was finished in1345.
• There is no official religion in France most
  people say they are Roman Catholic.
• There are five bells at Notre Dame. The great
  bell Emmanuel weighs over 13 tons.
• Notre Dame is 21 metres high.

  nearly burnt.
• Notre Dame survived the Commune essentially
  unscathed.
• During the 19th century the cathedral was in a
  state of disrepair.
