review the journey you traveled to arrive at
this point in your life.

your Grandma and Grandpa.

Premature Nursery
Born March 4, 1979 at Medical City Dallas
Hospital. You weighed in at 3 lbs. 14 ounces.
You bonded with your Parents, Grandparents, and
the nurses during your 6 week stay.
You were a fighter and a survivor in your effort
to gain enough weight and energy to go home.

Home From the Hospital
How much difference a few weeks make.
It was easy to tell at this early age that you
would be a happy, alert, compassionate person
we could see it in those eyes.

Feeling Right at Home
You had no trouble adjusting to a new wardrobe
and had a flair for displaying your finery
It even looks like you were orchestrating the
production of this photo opportunity.

At Home in Virginia - 1979
After spending your first 9 months in Dallas, it
was necessary for you and your parents to return
to Virginia.
Here you are at home in Virginia getting ready
for your first Christmas.
What a happy looking baby you were.

Early 1982
Never being camera shy, you like to ham it up for
the camera.
We think you knew that Grandma and Grandpa were
going to get copies of your pictures.
You seemed to have a flair for the glamour poses.

Easter in Dallas - 1982
Your visits to Dallas were always the highlight
of our year. We use to play together on the
swings, slide, and merry-go-round in the park
next to our house.
This is one of our favorite pictures of you.
You went from being a baby to a beautiful little
girl.

This is another favorite it shows you as a
child that has old fashioned values

Flower Girl, November 6, 1982
You were the hit of Aunt Dianes wedding in
Dallas. You were the flower girl and performed
your part like you were born to it.
We were so proud of you

Birthday, March 4, 1983
Getting ready for your 4th birthday.
What a pretty little girl you became in 4 short
years
Being so far away in Dallas, we always missed
sharing these events with you.
We did share them through the pictures your
parents sent us.

School Year 1983-1984
A happy and brilliant student of Mrs. Larca at
Francis Scott Key Montessori School.

Summer, 1984
This was the summer when you lost your front
teeth and gained a new baby brother. We think it
was a good trade.
Maybe Donnie was the answer to your wish to the
Tooth Fairy

Christmas in Dallas, 1984
We were so pleased that you and your family were
able to spend Christmas with us in Dallas. You
just kept growing up into a young lady.
This was our first chance to get to know Donnie.
You all made this a wonderful Christmas

Wow! Talk about growing up. Only 6 years old
and looking like a debutant

March, 1986
You were always your own person and could play
any role that the situation called for.
If it called for dignity, you were that. If it
called for a free spirit, you were that.

Lydias Wedding, 1986
We couldnt believe how mature you had become
when we received this picture of you and Tommy in
your Aunt Lydias wedding.

First Holy Communion, 1987
We know how much your religion means to you and
what a proud day it was when you received your
First Holy Communion.
We never worry about you straying off the
Pathway to Heaven

Summer, 1987
Grandpa visited with you during this year on one
of the many business trips he made to Washington.
Those trips were so cherished by him to see how
much you and Donnie had grown and to be a part of
your life.
A few months after this happy-face picture, you
had your 9th birthday and everyone was too ill
with the flu to celebrate it. You declared it
a zero birthday that year. lol

Fall, 1987
From the happy smile on your face, we suspect you
just received a UPS shipment of Grandmas
chocolate chip cookies.
Grandpa gets the same smile when he samples them
before they are shipped. He wants to be sure
they are good enough to send.
When you were younger, your favorite color was
UPS brown.

Circa 1990 - 1991
This was around the time when Grandma sent the
hand-made quilt she made for you.
We like to think that is the reason for the happy
face.

Circa 1992 - 1993
During this period Grandma and Grandpa visited
you in Virginia.
We all visited with the Striblings and spent a
day at Markham, Va.
Later in this period, you had grown up so much
that you traveled across the country, on your
own, to visit Kelly and Courtney in Sacramento.

School Picture, 1996
One year earlier you reached 16 and started
driving. Fortunately, everyone survived that
trauma.
By this time you were well on your way toward
becoming a mature young lady.

Wow! We know you didnt have any blank lines on
your dance card.

Graduation from Washington-Lee High School, June
16, 1997
What this picture doesnt say is that you were an
honor student every year and on the National
Honor Roll several years.
We are proud of your accomplishments.

You are getting ready for a dolphin handling
class in the Bahamas and are getting ready for
our family reunion at Myrtle Beach.
Whatever your thoughts are, they must be exciting.

The Future
We dont know what the future holds, but we are
sure it will include working with dolphins.
They dont know how lucky they are.
