I. Compound Microscope Has more than one lens.
A. Parts
1. Eyepiece (ocular) lens at top of body tube.
Usually 10x magnification.
32. Body tube holds the ocular lens and objective
lens a fixed distance apart.
3. Objectives (High power and Low power)
magnifies the image further after it has been
magnified by the eyepiece.
4. Stage Where the slide with the specimen is
placed for viewing.
45. Coarse Focus used for approximate focusing.
Big knob.
6. Fine Focus used for exact focusing. Small
knob.
7. Base supports the whole microscope.
8. Light lights up the specimen.
59. Nosepiece Used to switch objectives.
10. Diaphragm adjusts the amount of light
entering the stage.
