Background

• Anal cancer is a rare tumour
• 1-2 of GI malignancies
• Approx, 500 new cases each year
• SCC or epidermoid type is the commonest
• Other rare types-adenocarcinoma
• - small cell
  carcinoma
• - Undifferentiated
  carcinoma
