Why did I chose this book and genre.

• The reason I chose this book is because a kid in
  fifth grade recommended it to my brother. Then
  he and my mom went out to buy it. Next my mom
  told me to read it.

• The genre of the book is probably realistic
  fiction because it probably has not happened yet.

Authors purpose

• I think the authors purpose is to entertain
  because the story has not happened ever and it
  does not teach any thing.

Characters and setting

• Some characters are Hugo, Isabelle, Georges
  melies, and Madam melies.

• The setting is a train station in France. Also
  in an apartment.

In the beginning.

• The book starts out when Hugos dad dies in a
  fire, then he has to go live with his uncle.Soon
  his uncle dies and he is living by himself.Then
  he gets caught stealing bolts for his automaton
  to work.

In the middle.

• In the middle of the book he fixes the automaton
  it draws a picture.A mans name is signed on it,
  the name is Georges Melies.When the automaton was
  drawing Isabelle was there with him, and he was
  her dad so she got mad at Hugo.

In the end.

• Hugo gets caught stealing food and the station
  expecter starts chasing him and finely gets
  him.Then the station expector brings Hugo to a
  jail room.Then everybody finds out that Georges
  melies went back to being an actor, and he adopts
  Hugo then brings him back to his apartment and
  lives with him,Isabelle,and Madam.

Summary.

• A summary of the story is, a kid named Hugo whos
  uncle and dad dies.Then he fixes the automaton
  and finds out that the old man that owns the toy
  shop was a famous actor.then every one finds out
  that the old man went back to acting and he
  adapts Hugo.

• If I could recommend it to a friend I probably
  would because it is a great book and it has a ton
  of pictures.
