  • Background . . . . . What caused the need for
    change
  • In 2002 we were being asked questions we could
    not answer
  • We were seeing a new green standard emerge that
    geographically was getting some attention
  • A customer told us that it was about more than
    price/delivery/value

5
  • What did we do
  • Developed our strategy to engage the company by
creating a large scale organizational shift
    clever/agile/responsive/human
  • Pro-active environmental responsibility
  • Senior leadership assigned to lead executive
    sponsor (president)
  • Charter to set goals and objectives
  • Foundation programs to guide behavior change -
ISO 14001, Greenguard, Eco Logo, LEED

6
Purpose Teknion is moving forward focused on
Sustainable Development Development that meets
the needs of the present, without compromising
the ability of future generations to meet their
own needs. We do this to continue to become a
better company, not just a greener one. Each
year within our Environmental Charter we expand
organizational goals and objectives, which
support the reduction of environmental
impacts. As we grow our organizational culture
with pro-active environmental responsibility, our
commitment is reinforced through the enhanced
relationships with our clients and suppliers.
Through our measured process of continuous
improvement we are encouraged by our results.
However, we remain humble as we develop the
broader organizational understanding that our
efforts are essential to the social, economic and
environmental viability of our world.

AP status, enabled us to work seamlessly with
WSSI to ensure they reached their environmental
goal and LEED Gold!
19
customer support/training Sholem Prasow has run
LEED accreditation coaching programs attended by
over 1,000 people. Doug Hietkamp has worked
with Teknions customers who are interested in
LEED certification and provided them with the
