Change Leadership
???????
Self-esteem
1. Immobilisation as rumours of the
change circulate, the individual feels some sense
of shock and possible disbelief so much so that
they deem it worthy of doing nothing.
2. Minimisation As the change becomes clearer,
people try to fit in the change with their own
personal position and may try to believe that it
will not affect them.
3. Depression as reality begins to dawn staff
may feel alienated and angry, feelings of a lack
of control of events overtake people and they
feel depressed as they try to reconcile what is
happening with their own personal situation.
4. Acceptance/letting go The lowest point in
self-esteem finally sees people starting to
accept the inevitable. Fear of the future is a
feature of this stage.
5. Testing out Individuals begin to interact
with the change, they start to ask questions to
see how they might work with the change.
6. Search for meaning Individuals begin to work
with the change and see how they might be able to
make the change work for them self esteem
begins to rise.
7
????
????
2
????
7. Internalisation the change is understood and
adopted within the individuals own understanding
they now know how to work with it and feel a
renewed sense of confidence and self esteem.

  • Popular Pluralism??????
  • Tolerance????(?)
  • Situationalism???
  • Leagalism???
  • Cultural Relativism?????

51
Issue of Privatism
  • Meaning and purpose are found in the private
    realm
  • What I do in private is my business and has no
    impact on my public life
  • The ultimate good is whatever makes me feel good
    in private
  • ?????????????
  • ???????????
  • ????????????

52
Issue of Privatism
  • Assumptions
  • Public and private division is completely
separate without any connection or relationship
  • A completely private life is possible
  • Possible?
  • ??????????????????
  • ?????????????
  • ????

53
?? ?????
???? ?????
54
Issue of Popular Pluralism

????? ??? ??? ??!
58
Issue of Tolerance
  • The good lies in not judging another human being
  • The supreme good lies in tolerance of all
    behavior, ideas, and values
  • There is no right or wrong only differing
    behaviors to be accepted
  • ??????????
  • ??????????????,?????
  • ?????,?????

59
?? ???
?? vs ??

Issue of Situationalism
  • Doing the most loving thing in any situation

61
Issue of Situationalism
  • Leadership is situational morals and ethics are
    not
  • What is the most loving thing? Who gets to

  • ?????,????????
  • ????????
  • ?????????

62
Issue of legalism
  • The good and right thing is defined by what is in

    guilty under the law
  • Law and morality are the same?
  • Equating duty with obedience to orders is a
common but serious failing of the management
  • ??????
  • ??????????????????????????
  • ?????????

63
Issue of legalism
  • Does the law ever keep us from doing the right
    thing?
  • Can some laws be immoral?

    can never be immoral!
  • ???????????

Cultural relativism

  • Are there any standards that transcend individual
    feeling and group norms?
  • ????????,??,?????
  • ???????????????????????

65
Cultural relativism
  • From where do transcendent values come?
  • If ethics is no more than custom then ethical
behavior is doing no more than what is normally
    done in that culture
  • There is no universal obligation
  • What happens on the other side of the pond, stays
