Why is it used?

• The anemometer is a device that
  measures wind speed.
• The word anemometer comes from the Greek word
  anemos, meaning wind.
• It is used at weather stations nowadays.
• You can also see the wind direction.

Is there a scale?

• Wind speed is measured by using the Beaufort Wind
  Scale which is a scale of 0-12 based on what you
  can see.
