Kayla Catogge
Freshman Kayla Catogge has been selected as the
September Student of the Month from the Science
Department. Kayla really enjoys cheering, and
mentions that her favorite food is steak and
mashed potatoes. Kaylas teacher
says... Kayla has already demonstrated to be a
very independent student in Earth Science class.
She does an excellent job coming to class
prepared and is always willing to share her ideas
with the rest of the class. Kayla has also taken
on a leadership role while working with her lab
group by making sure all of the members of her
lab group are participating and staying on task.
Kayla is a hard-working student who is a role
model to others in the class. She is encouraged
to keep up the good work! Ms. Beshlian

Jake Garcia
Jake has been selected as the September Student
of the Month from the Health Physical Education
Department. Jake has been creating music for over
9 years, and is a volunteer for the EMS in
Jefferson. He hopes to major in Astro-Biology in
college! Jakes teacher says... Jake Garcia is
chosen as student of the month for my First
Aid/CPR class. Jake has earned a perfect score in
the class because of his excellent comprehension
of life-saving techniques. Jake is a fireman and
he uses his knowledge to teach his classmates
about his profession. He actively contributes
everyday by sharing stories or teaches the class
basic skills of first aid. He truly has what it
takes to be a professional in the emergency
medical system and our town is lucky to have

Landon Buell
- Senior Landon Buell has been selected as the
September Student of the Month from the Video
Production Department. Landon mentions that he
truly enjoys working with Mr. K, and loves pizza! - Landons teacher says...
- Landon Buell is an integral part of Good
Morning, Jefferson! and the Video Department. He
has always been dedicated but this year he has
moved on to the next level. His technical skills
are impressive and he has a great on-camera
presence. He is always ready to help out anyone
who needs assistance and has a great sense of
humor. He will be sorely missed next year but I
know he will continue to accomplish great

Sean Perry
Senior Sean Perry has been selected as the
September Student of the Month from the Social
Studies Department. Seans dream would be to
play professional baseball for the Yankees. He
hopes to graduate college with a degree in sports
management. Seans teacher says... Sean has
shown early consistency this school year. He is
an outstanding student who brings intelligence as
well as laughter to every class. He is a class
leader who is often turned to by other students
to answer the tough questions. His knowledge of
the subject and analytical style of thinking
often brings a refreshing atmosphere to the
class. He is always there to congratulate or
offer assistance to his fellow classmates. Sean
is thoroughly involved with the worlds current
issues and is in tune with the events that
surround us each and every day. He is kind,
courteous and friendly and well deserving of the

Colton Bassett
Senior Colton Bassett has been selected as the
September Student of the Month from the English
Department. Colton has a true passion for film
making, and wishes to pursue this in college. He
also is involved in the fall drama, and JTHS
musicals. Coltons teacher says... The
Student of the Month for the English department
is Colton Bassett. Colton is very insightful and
perceptive. He is a very analytical thinker who
is very well spoken and is able to expertly
convey his thoughts during class.. Ms. Maxwell

Dylan Terpstra
Senior Dylan Terpstra has been selected as the
September Student of the Month from the World
Language Department. Dylan wishes to become
fluent in Spanish, and would like to in the
future travel and attend college. He is a proud
member of the JTHS track team. Dylans teacher
says... The World Languages Department is
delighted to present Mr. Dylan Terpstra as its
Student of the Month. Dylan is a student of the
Spanish language and is currently enrolled in AP
Spanish. Mr. Terpstra has adapted well in his new
class he is always eager to participate and
engage in any activity presented. Dylan puts
forward amazing effort, tries hard at only
speaking the Spanish language in the class and at
being a positive, cooperative classmate. It is an
honor to have such a student as part of our
Falcon family and as a language learner.

Edria Garganian
Freshman Edria Garganian has been selected as the
September Student of the Month from the
Mathematics Department. Edria transferred from
the Philippines, where she played table tennis.
She hopes to attend Rutgers University upon
graduation. Edrias teacher says... Edria is
a very hard worker and is able to grasp math
concepts very quickly. She currently has a 100
average! This is quite commendable because Edria
is rather new to the USA and has had to make many
adjustments. She is a pleasure to have in

Cade Herman
Junior Cade Herman has been selected as the
September Student of the Month from the
Mathematics Department. Cade enjoys watching
YouTube videos, and really enjoys Language Arts.
In the future, he would love to be a video game
tester. Cades teacher says... Cade has made
tremendous strides in math. His grade may not
seem impressive but the improvements and
dedication are. Cade has matured and his
attitude in class has shown great improvement.
He is much more accepting of assistance when
needed and has started asking for help. -Ms.

Dean Gonnella
- Senior Dean Gonnella has been selected as the
September Student of the Month from the Music
Department. Dean has been involved with music for
ten years, and loves Mr. Bs class. He would
like to be a criminal justice or law enforcement
major when he attends college. - Deans teacher says...
- Dean has done a tremendous job during Marching
Band this year, joining as a senior rookie. He
has brought an element of leadership to the front
ensemble and served as an excellent role model.

Ryan Schmidt
- Junior Ryan Schmidt has been selected as the
September Rotary Student of the Month. Ryan plans
to attend college as a pre-med major, and double
major in music performance. When asked about one
of his favorite places to visit, he immediately
mentioned Savannah, Georgia! - Ryans teacher says
- Ryan Schmidt is an outstanding member of the
school community at JTHS. He is involved in a
variety of activities including the Golden Falcon
Marching Band, the Red Cross Club, PDP, and the
Jefferson Township Municipal Alliance. He is
always smiling and cheerful in the hallways
further, he is always around to lend a helping
hand to other students. He is caring, motivated,
responsible, and funny! Ryan truly exemplifies a
model for all of us here at the high school!.
