I ride the bus to school!

• Everyday I ride the bus to school.
• At home I get ready for school, I get my
• coat and backpack and
• walk to the bus stop .

• At the bus stop I say hi to my friends.
• I stay safe by staying out of the street and not
  running around.
• I know it is my bus by the number on the bus.
• I see the bus coming!

• I remember to get in line with everyone.
• I keep my hands to myself because the other
  children will get mad if I push or shove.
• When the bus stops I wait my turn then walk up
  the bus stairs and say good morning to
  the bus driver.

• I find my seat and sit down. If my bus has seat
  belts, I buckle up.
• If the bus does not have buckles, I must stay in
  my seat during the entire ride.
• Buckling my seat belt and staying in my seat
  keeps me from falling and getting hurt if the bus
  stops fast in an emergency.

I talk quietly to my friend sitting next to me.
We cant talk too loud because the bus driver
needs to be able to concentrate on driving and be
able to give us directions in an emergency.

• When we get to school, I wait my turn to walk off
  the bus. I tell the bus driver, thank you.
• Getting to school safely is a great way to start
  my school day. When the bell rings to go home at
  the end of the day, I will follow the same rules
  so that I arrive home safe.
