will lose a LOT of weight if I restrict my
calories by not eating or by throwing up the food

- People who have anorexia have an intense fear of
gaining weight. They severely limit the amount of
food they eat and can become dangerously thin.

may start as dieting, but it gets out of control.

- Some people just have one of these eating
disorders, others have a combination of two or
three disorders. - EXAMPLE Many people with Anorexia struggle with
restricting calories and then binge eat. Then
they struggle with guilt and throw up food,
leading to Bulimia.
27Exercise Bulimia is a newly recognized eating
disorder, characterized by a compulsion to purge
calories through excessive exercise. It is also
known as "compulsive exercise" or "exercise
addiction.
28 With Exercise Bulimia, sufferers feel a desire
to purge calories, but use rigorous exercise as
their method as opposed to someone with
traditional Bulimia.
29- Symptoms of Exercise Bulimia include
- Inflexibility as to time of day and mode of
exercise. - Exercise even when sick or injured.
- Prioritizing exercise over social dates, family
functions, work, or school. - Intense fear at states of rest.
30- Intense anxiety at situations where preferred
method of exercise is unavailable. - Intense guilt when forced to stray from exercise
routine. - Refusal to eat if unable to exercise.
