History

• In 1919/1920 it was contributed for opening a new
  modern school in Pavlikeni. And it opened its
  doors in October, 1920 with two classes, which
  had 63 students both.
• In the next years the school progressed and the
  number of students increased. During the period
  1938-1945 the school was named "Princess Maria
  Luisa".

And since 1946 it has kept the name "Bacho Kiro"

Bacho Kiro as a historical personality
Bacho Kiro is one of the most important and
famous personalities in our history. He was more
than a teacher, but a leader for the people
involved in the National Renaissance. His
speeches and poetry revealed his patriotism the
conception that not only weapons but words can
also help national fights.
He was born in 1835 in Biala Cherkva. Later he
became one of the most famous teachers in the
area and the leader of "Biala Cherkva's
resistance". Together with priest Hariton, Bacho
Kiro dared to provoke the Turkish enslavers.
After the epic battle in Drianovo monastery he
managed to escape and hide. But he was betrayed
to the Turks by the local rich men. Bacho Kiro
was hanged in Turnovo on May 28th 1876.
