• WHAT IS FAITH ??
• There is a Difference between the following
• Believing God
• Hoping / Trusting in God
• Have FAITH in God
• LIVE and WALK by FAITH
• In the Greek the word Faith is defined as G4102
  persuasion, that is, credence moral conviction
  (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God
  or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon
  Christ for salvation abstractly constancy in
  such profession by extension the system of
  religious (Gospel) truth itself - assurance,
  belief, believe, faith, fidelity.
• FAITH IS NOW where as trusting / hoping and
  believing means that Im trusting that it will
  happen somedaybut I cant say when
• Heb 111 Now Faith is the substance of things
  hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
• Heb 116 But without faith it is impossible to
  please Him for he that cometh to God must
  believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of
  them that diligently seek Him.
• FAITH is an ACTING Word!! Ie
• Jam 215-16 ESV If a brother or sister is poorly
  clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of
  you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and
  filled," without giving them the things needed
  for the body, what good is that?
• Jam 217 ESV So also faith by itself, if it does
  not have works, is dead.
• Jam 218-20 ESV But someone will say, "You have
  faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart
  from your works, and I will show you my faith by
  my works. You believe that God is one you do
  well. Even the demons believe--and shudder! Do
  you want to be shown, you foolish person, that
  faith apart from works is useless?
• Jam 226 ESV For as the body apart from the
  spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is
  dead.
• Mar 1121 ESV And Peter remembered and said to
  him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed
  has withered."
• Mar 1122-23 And Jesus answered them, "Have
  faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says
  to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into
  the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but
  believes that what he says will come to pass, it
  will be done for him.
• Mar 1124 ESV Therefore I tell you, whatever you
  ask in prayer, believe that you have received it,
  and it will be yours.
• IN SUMMARY FAITH IS ACTING (Doing and/or
  Speaking continually) ON WHAT YOU
  BELIEVE/HOPE/TRUST GOD FOR until it Manifests..!!!

• Walk by Faith NOT by Sight !!!
• Again, There is a Difference between
• The NATURAL - our 5 senses, and
• Having FAITH through the SPIRIT
• What did Paul mean when he wrote this 1 sentence
  in the midst of his letter..??
• 2Cor 57 for we walk by faith, not by sight.
• i.e. Paul meant that they werent looking at
  their physical situation and circumstances that
  was disastrous to say the least, but their eye
  was on the Heavenly Calling (Acts 2619) and the
  Revelations that God gave Paul in other words
  Paul kept his eyes on God knowing WHO God IS
  and WHAT He can Do as well as Perform what He
  promised to Paul.despite his circumstances he
  had to endure. (Jesus walked the same Heb
  122)
• 2Cor 48-10 We are troubled on every side, yet
  not distressed we are perplexed, but not in
  despair Persecuted, but not forsaken cast
  down, but not destroyed Always bearing about
  in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the
  life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our
  body.
• THUS To walk by your sight means - to only use
  your natural 5 senses in the physical to
  determine your decisions, your reasoning or your
  future, etc. etc.
• Sight Taste Touch Smell Hear
• Sight Hearing affects what we project/expect is
  going to happen, but Taste, Touch Smell is what
  reminds us of past experiences (good or bad)
• In other words
• We listen to the News, and Weather Reports
• We read news papers, and google the Internet for
  Information
• We listen to our Parents, Family and Friends
  opinions about Love, Life, Health, the Future,
  etc.
• Peer Pressure especially amongst teenagers
  but also amongst grown-ups. We compare ourselves
  constantly by looks, through magazines, what the
  neighbours did or didnt do (Do as the Jones
  do), etc etc
• Doctors Reports diagnoses of cancer, or
  HIV/AIDS or Syndromes, etc, etcscares us and we
  cant think straight
• Looking at History to determine the future !!
  (Which is only Predictions like Fortune
  telling.)
• And All this can cause a lot of Uncertainty and
  Fear in our lives

• Walk by Faith NOT by Sight !!! (cont..)
• THUS To overcome all these Questions, Fears, and
  Uncertainty etc we need to get to know the Word
  of God
• BUT even more than that we must KNOW GOD
  HIMSELF i.e. Through Relationship with Him
  through the Holy Spirit dwelling within us
  (John 173)
• That is how we will KNOW WHO God says He is, as
  well as the Promises He made, AND to know what is
  HIS WILL.etc. To KNOW HIS
• LOVE, MERCY, GRACE, KINDNESS, HEALING POWER,
  AUTHORITY, etc
• John 1417 Even the Spirit of truth whom the
  world cannot receive, because it seeth him not,
  neither knoweth him but ye know him for he
  dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
• John 1426-27 But the Comforter, which is the
  Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name,
  He shall teach you all things, and bring all
  things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have
  said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace
  I give unto you not as the world giveth, give I
  unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither
  let it be afraid.
• 1John 417-19 Herein is our love made perfect,
  that we may have boldness in the day of judgment
  because as he is, so are we in this world. There
  is no fear in love but perfect love casteth out
  fear because fear hath torment. He that feareth
  is not made perfect in love. We love Him,
  because He first loved us.
• And knowing all these promises, and plenty
  others, is what is giving us the Confidence to
  overcome every Fear that we Face to be able to
  speak and do the exact opposite which to the
  normal/natural eye it would look crazy or dumb,
  but to those who walk by FAITH in GOD will
  eventually Manifest what they have been saying
  and doing all along (Rom 837)
• And when it manifests (come to be as we said it
  would be) is what is then a testimony to the
  World that God exists, and that He is who He says
  He isetc
• Eg See Numbers 13 14 where Joshua Caleb
  stood with their Faith in God and said the
  exact opposite than the other 10 spies that came
  back which convinced the people to fear and to
  see themselves weak and unable
• BUT because Joshua Caleb stood by what they
  Believed, they were saved and they could enter
  into the Promised land 40 years later with the
  same strength they had when they first spied out
  the land
• Num 1330 And Caleb stilled the people before
  Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and
  possess it for we are well able to overcome it.
• Num 1424 But my servant Caleb, because he had
  another spirit with him, and hath followed me
  fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto
  he went and his seed shall possess it.
• And that is how we overcome and Live and Walk
  by Faith not what we See or Hear etc (Hab 24,
  Rom 117, Gal 311 Heb 1038)

• Measure of FAITH
• Rom 123 For I say, through the grace given unto
  me, to every man that is among you, not to think
  of himself more highly than he ought to think
  but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt
  to every man the measure of faith.
• At some stage or the other we start wondering
  have I been given more or less Faith than another
  person eg a preacher, a prophet etc, etc
• Cause it very often feels like we will never
  achieve or become even close to what some people
  have reached in Gods Spirit like some of our
  latest Faith Heroes eg Smith Wigglesworth,
  Lester Sumrall, Kenneth Hagen, Kenneth Copeland,
  etc
• We very often feel like the Disciples to also cry
  out and ask
• Luk 175 And the apostles said unto the Lord,
  Increase our faith.
• But we shouldnt be put off or feel intimidated
  by another persons faith and their achievements
  In and By the Spirit of God
• Cause God does not Give the Spirit by Measure
  (John 334), Neither does He single out specific
  persons (Deut 1017)
• We all receive the Holy Spirit though our New
  Birth and even when we initially receive just a
  little bit of the Spirit of God (i.e. in seed
  form), it already contains all the possibilities
  and power to change anything you can possibly
  think of (1 Pet 123 Born again from
  incorruptible SEED the word of God, Rom 811
  Same Spirit that Raised Christ from the Dead
  Dwells In US, Col 127 Christ In us the HOPE
  of Glory)
• For Example An apple seed, or a mustard seed,
  etc..
• Cause we can count the seeds in an apple, but
  through Faith, God can count all the apples in 1
  seed
• We have a saying that never count your chickens
  before they are hatched but Faith says Count
  your chickens BEFORE they HATCH
• Meaning Speak in FAITH what you want see
  the end from the beginning and start speaking
  it prophecy it speak it forth into existence,
  and you shall see what you have spoken in FAITH
  and believed God for(Math 2515 onwards the
  Talents You can grow your Faith in the same way
  and will be rewarded according to the Fruit
  that youve shown)
• THUS never think that you have received just a
  small measure and you cant increase it and Grow
  in Strength and Power and Faith in the Spirit of
  God
• That is exactly what our AIM should be - is to
  GROW in our Faith on a Daily basis in order to
  reach the Perfection / Maturity in Christ as God
  had purposed it all along for every person on
  earth
• Eph 413 Till we all come in the unity of the
  faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
  unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the
  stature of the fulness of Christ
• Remember the movie of Angus Buchan Faith like
  Potatoes Faith is tangible it is a substance
  of what you believeuse it never doubt and
  you shall see the results !!!

• Different Kinds of FAITH
• There are different kinds of Faith that we need
  to understand otherwise we can get very
  confused as to which Faith am I operating in
• Natural Faith
• Is the type of faith we have in the Natural or
  Physical life i.e. to Walk by Sight
• Eg
• Farmer when sowing seed in his land
• He prepares the land in a certain way using all
  kinds of fertilizers, depending on the seed he is
  going to sow
• Plants the seed in the ground and then waits for
  it patiently to germinate, and grow into a full
  harvest
• Fisherman when going out to catch some fish
• He has faith in his own methods of preparing his
  bait, and where exactly to throw in the fishing
  line, or net, in order to catch some fish.
• He is generally successful in his belief
• Saving Faith
• Is the Faith a person will need, to come to
  Jesus, through Believing the Gospel, hearing the
  Word of God preached to them (eg. Rom 10)
• A person would hear the Gospel, believes what he
  heard, accepts Jesus into his heart, and is
  Saved.
• Every person has been giving this saving faith
  meaning God gives us each the ability to believe
  that we can be saved and be born of God but we
  can choose to use it or not
• Eg The 2 Thieves on the crosses on both sides
  of Jesus - (Luke 2339-43)
• On the right hand side of Jesus the one asked
  Jesus to think of him when He (Jesus) gets into
  His Kingdom
• And Jesus said that he will be with Him in
  paradise that same day. He was saved that very
  instant.
• But the one on the left choose not to believe
  and died in his sins (John 824)

• Different Kinds of FAITH
• But then there is a 3rd kind of Faith
• The Gift of Faith (1 Cor 129 1 of the 9 Gifts
  of the Holy Spirit)
• Sometimes the Gift of Faith is mistaken for the
  Faith of Salvation (or Saving Faith)
• BUT Saving Faith has no relation to the
  supernatural GIFT of the Holy Spirit.
• There is major difference between the Measure
  of Faith (which is more a faith for Salvation)
  and the GIFT of FAITH
• The Gift of Faith is a special kind of Faith that
  supernaturally achieves what is impossible
  through human instruments, knowledge, power, etc
• This is when God, through the Power of the Holy
  Spirit, performs supernatural WORKS (called
  miracles, wonders, and signs), that cannot be
  humanly explained. (Mark 1617-18)
• These works are not done normally in our
  everyday life, otherwise, they would have no
  relation to the supernatural gifts of the Holy
  Spirit.
• No Human Strength is required only obedience to
  the promptings of the Holy Spirit (either to do
  or to speak according to His guidance)
• FAITH PERMITS God to Perform a WORK on your
  behalf !!!
• Zec 46 Then he answered and spake unto me,
  saying, This is the word of the LORD unto
  Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power,
  but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
• Eg.
• Hos 1210 Prophets act out Parables (Eg. Moses
  pouring water on the ground, and all the water in
  Egypt turned into blood)
• Amos 37 God does nothing without revealing it
  to His Prophets first Eg Jeremiah everything
  God wanted to bring about, He first revealed it
  to Jeremiah through Prophecy, before Israel was
  eventually taken captive and taken into captivity
  to Babylon
• This was the Faith through which Jesus operated
  all of the time.
• Eg When He spoke to the tempest, and immediately
  it calmed down. (Math 823-27)
• Most Christians dont believe they can drink
  from this same kind of Power (through FAITH) to
  be able to flow through us, that flowed through
  Jesus.
• NOTE Smith Wigglesworth said that sometimes
  you have to move the Spirit yourself

• Different Kinds of FAITH (cont)
• The 3rd kind of Faith
• The Gift of Faith (1 Cor 129) - continue
• Cause Jesus Promised this exact thing, in Joh 14
  through 16 when He said He will send us the
  Holy Spirit
• And He mentioned in Joh 1412 that the same
  WORKS He did, we can do also, and even GREATER
  than that when the Holy Spirit comes.
• For we are participants in the Same STRENGTH,
  POWER, VITALITY, WISDOM, and KNOWLEDGE that Jesus
  had all through the Presence of the Holy
  Spirit..!!!
• This Gift of FAITH through the Holy Spirit, is
  Unlimited, and un-ending.
• God is the SOURCE of its energy !!
• God does the Fighting YOU do the REJOICING !!
  (Like Jehoshaphat in 2 Chron 19-20) - thus
  Becoming More than a Conqueror (Rom 837)
• Examples from the Bible of People that operated
  in THE GIFT OF FAITH
• Moses Using his staff in various miraculous
  situations like it turning into a serpent, or
  causing the sea to open up for the whole of
  Israel to go through, and even for Israel to won
  a particular battle (when Joshua Hur kept his
  arms up). He also did other works like causing
  all 10 plagues to manifest through Egypt
• Elijah Stopping the rain to come down for 3 and
  a half years, the widow and the Ravens that fed
  him, and he even called fire down from heaven in
  more than one occasion
• Elisha he did everything the Elijah did and
  more even let an axe-head float on water !!!
  They both raised people from the dead. Even after
  Elishas death when a body touched his bones,
  the person came back to life !!!
• Daniels 3 friends refusing to worship the
  statue but choose By FAITH in God, to took a
  stand for God instead and was threatened to be
  killed, but then saved miraculously from the
  Fiery Furnace (Dan 316-18)
• Daniel ending up in the Lions Den (also because
  he took a stand in prayer), coming out safe from
  the den without any harm done to him because of
  having Faith in God that He will protect him.
• The Centurion saying to Jesus that he must
  just speak a word and his servant will be
  healedand Jesus Marveled at his faith He just
  said Go, your Servant is Healed (Mat 85-13)
• The woman who had the issue of blood said to
  herself if I can just touch the Hem of Jesus
  garment I will be healed and she received her
  healing, when she acted on it
• Paul through everything he has been through
  ship-wrecked, Lashed 5 times like Jesus was, and
  stoned, left for dead, and got up again and
  preached again !!!

• Stir up my FAITH
• NOW from all these examples we can use to stir
  up our faith in various ways
• 2Tim 16-8 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance
  that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in
  thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath
  not given us the spirit of fear but of power,
  and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou
  therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord,
  nor of me his prisoner but be thou partaker of
  the afflictions of the gospel according to the
  power of God
• Some Examples that you can use to start stirring
  up your faith but this is only a short list
  there are many more waysunique to everyone.
• Praying in Tongues, or Worship is a good place to
  start to stir up your Faith as tongues is the
  first sign that the Spirit of God hasnt left
  you, and He is still with you and for youand He
  will not leave you nor forsake you, or leave you
  like an orphan or a hireling the sheep when the
  wolves want to attack the sheep etc he is the
  Great Shepherd (John 10)
• Praying for each other and laying on of our
  hands that way you transfer /Impart the Spirit
  / or Anointing from what you have to another
  and thus increases their strength to stand up
  again, and be refreshed.
• Confessing out load what I believe like point
  one above get scriptures that confirm your
  faith and learn them off by heart
• Start Speaking / Prophesying what you want to see
  to happen SPEAK LIGHT LIFE into a seemingly
  Dark situation in front of you and speak the
  exact opposite of what is staring you in the
  face.. And Take a Firm stand with the full
  armour of God against the wiles of the devil (Eph
  610-18)
• Ask God to show you Visions and/or Dreams to
  stir you up if you struggle to get your Faith up
  again, and there isnt anyone else to lay hands
  on you againlike in the middle of the night when
  fear grips you
• Mark your Bible the Texts that stands out for you
  as clear promises from God so that when you
  have to fight the feelings of fear and doubt and
  unbelief that those scriptures will stand out
  clearly and you can read them out load
• Be like the Prophets act out a Parable
  meaning do in a small scale whatever you want
  to see happening like Jacob did with the Goats
  the sheep of Laban he watched over he would
  act out and spoke to the animals what he expected
  from them and they produced exactly according
  to what he prophesied to them and thus started
  taking over Labans flock little by little
• THUS FAITH is KNOWING not Predicting. Faith
  is CONFIDENT not questioning, wondering
• And lastly Faith is to walk Head on into the
  thing that looks like it is going to hurt you
  and say/speak out load
• My God is Greater IN me than that what I see
  here in front of me (1 John 48) and He can
  move a mountain if need be I will not fail and I
  will not faint for He will Keep me
  Strongetcetc
• Jam 16-8 But let him ask in faith, nothing
  wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of
  the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let
  not that man think that he shall receive any
  thing of the Lord. A double minded man is
  unstable in all his ways.
• A M E N
